Ruby the Dragon

Prior to their visit the children will receive a letter to the school from Ruby the dragon inviting them to come and visit the castle.

Session 1: The children will listen to a story by the storyteller about how Ruby came to live in the castle and the problems she had trying to find a dragon friendly place to sleep in the castle. They will have the opportunity to get involved in the story with actions to do and objects to handle.

Session 2: The children will meet the dragon tamer who will give them clues about what Ruby leaves around the castle, the will have to follow the clues such as jewels, dragon droppings and scales to find out where ruby is hiding. They will then all get the chance to meet Ruby the dragon.

Bryce the Mouse

Session 1: The children will listen to a story by the storyteller about how Bryce the mouse came to the castle to visit his grandparents and what he experienced in a medieval castle. They will have the opportunity to get involved in the story with actions to do and objects to handle.

Session 2: Children are guided through the rooms that Bryce would have seen when he visited the Castle. They are encouraged to explore what the rooms would have been used for and to see if they can catch a glimpse of the cheeky mouse!
