VisitEngland Awards
Tamworth Castle has retained their official approval as one of the best small visitor attractions in Staffordshire, after achieving the Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Service accreditation; a quality assessment by VisitEngland, for the eleventh year running.
Museum Accreditation
In 2024 Tamworth Castle was awarded full Museum Accreditation status for a further five years by the Arts Council England panel.
The accreditation scheme is the UK industry standard for museums and galleries which helps everyone involved with a museum to do the right things, encouraging people to access and engage with collections and protect them for future generations. This is measured by an agreed standard in how museums manage their premises, collections and engage with visitors.

Staffordshire Tourism Award
Tamworth Castle scooped silver for the Small Visitor Attraction at the 2025 Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Tourism Awards. These are awarded to Staffordshire's best tourism and hospitality businesses. Read more about this award.
Sandford Award
The Sandford Award is the quality mark for heritage learning and validation for heritage organisations large and local, urban and rural across the UK (including the Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man) that offer a formal learning programme which supports the relevant curriculum across the home countries. Recognition is also given to informal learning such as family programmes and self-guided provision.

Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge
Tamworth Castle has been given the seal of approval for the thirteenth year running, as a quality and accredited provider of educational school trips.
The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) awards the Quality Badge to give assurances to schools regarding the safety and quality of off-site education and is the only accreditation scheme for all types of LOtC provision; from botanic gardens and farms; through to museums and expeditions overseas. This means that schools only need to look for one accreditation when planning visits. Read more about this accreditation.
