Tamworth Castle to temporarily close with immediate effect - 18 March 2020

In light of new guidance from the Government, we have decided to temporarily close Tamworth Castle in order to protect the health and safety of our communities in the joint effort to tackle coronavirus.

Tamworth Castle will close to members of the public with immediate effect. Initially this will be until the end of March, with a decision as to whether to extend the closures to be made next week.

Any further updates will be posted to our website and our social media channels, Facebook and Twitter, as and when we have any news to share. We ask people to please bear with us in the meantime and thank everyone for their patience, understanding and support.

Dear Customers,
Thanks to a Heritage Lottery Fund grant, an exciting new interactive exhibition is being developed about Saxon Tamworth and the Staffordshire Hoard. This means that the Tamworth Story area, located on the top floor of the Castle, and the Tower are currently closed and the Staffordshire Hoard is not available to be viewed. Thank you for your support and understanding.
