Dear Customers,
Thanks to a Heritage Lottery Fund grant, an exciting new interactive exhibition is being developed about Saxon Tamworth and the Staffordshire Hoard.  This means that the Tamworth Story area, located on the top floor of the Castle, is currently closed and the Staffordshire Hoard is not available to be viewed. We have made every effort to ensure the Castle remains open during this work, and that all other rooms are accessible as part of your visit. Work will continue until Summer 2019. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Opening Times & Prices

We open extra days including Mondays for bank holidays and Staffordshire school holidays (with the exception of the Christmas break) helping you make the most of holidays! There are often special events such as living history, Saxon festivals and historical events that you can get involved in during these times. Please be aware that our special events are popular, so there may be queues.

Take a look at our events to see what's on and when! Please do give us a call to check opening hours for these special events and what you can expect. We are also open throughout the year to school parties.
