Castle Grounds

Tamworth Castle is surrounded by attractive parkland, free and open to all, which is packed with family activities such as cycling, tennis and skating, as well as stunning flowerbeds, river walks, picnic benches, a huge children's playground, historic features, sculptures and more.
While the grounds have ample entertainment to keep the family busy all year-round, they are also host to a busy calendar of special events, including a St George's Day Festival, live theatre, live music, open air cinemas and fireworks display, to name a few. Some are free, some will require tickets, so please check out the events calendar to see What's On.
Bandstand
The Victorian bandstand is located at the top of the floral terraces, sitting beneath Tamworth Castle. It was erected in 1900 and constructed by the Price Brothers; local builders whose initials are set in the stonework inside. At weekends during the summer months you can enjoy live music from the bandstand while relaxing in the park. The programme of Bandstand concerts is detailed in our What's On section.
